add current time as part of text field using automation

need to fill up two text field with current date and time based on the status change using automation and at the need need to find difference between them

yes i have gone through this links,

but whatever smart values i am giving it is reflected as it is,

for example  

{{now}} must have changes to "date--time"

but the output is 

{{now}}-->now
