×Hey a year or so ago, i was forced to merge my forums account and atlassian account. I am soon to leave this company, but i want to take my forums account with me.
Unfortunately the atlassian account has all the software licensing for our company associated with it and i have no interest in bringing that with me.
I would hate to start a new account because i have open questions and will be pushing the new company to adopt jira as well so i want to keep my forums account.
So how do i de-entangle these two accounts?
There are a couple of threads on this (I'll see if I can find them in a moment) - you basically start a new account and do nothing with it, then contact the Atlassian team and they can merge the new account with your existing account.

There is an Atlassian reply on this thread. There are a few others too, but they say essentially the same thing. As long as you don't start doing things with the 'new' account, they can merge them for you.

You got it. thats all i had to do. I am now posting with the new account. Display name is a bit messed up but im hoping that will work itself out soon.
Had to create a ticket and provide the URL of my old profile and my new profile. Then they were able to fix it up.
thanks

You should be able to do this for yourself.
Find the person (or people) who is taking over responsibility for the Atlassian products at your place. Name them as an additional technical and billing contact on the products and then remove yourself (I am not sure if this has changed since I last did it, it may require that they remove you now)
You should then not have any link to their systems and can move on.

ug i did that before when my old boss left a few years ago. we have so many plugins it took hours to update. there was no mass update and you have to do each manually and i believe update two different contacts. a nightmare with 72 plugins...
im also not sure if there are other legacy things on the account. i want to just pass my corporate account over to the next person, but the problem is the forums account is the same account. They didnt use to be, but at one point i stupidly agreed to merge them.
