I attempted an upgrade to JIRA software 8.2. After that upgrade, JIRA Service Desk wouldn't upgrade. So I reverted to my backup, JIRA 7.13.0 JSD 3.16.0, truncated the DB, restored the application-data and restored the app files.
Now, JIRA loads, but none of my Service Desk projects actually show as Service Desk projects. I've gone through every article on here, done all the recommended steps and nothing is working.
pluginstate table, everything is set to 'true'
Set the plugin wait all the way up to 1200 seconds, excessive I know, still no luck.
Moved the service desk .jar files out of the installed-plugins directory.
For the life of me, I can't figure this out. I know the issue is that the plugins aren't loading, but I don't know why. Nothing stands out in the logs. No outofmemory errors, no timeouts, it's like they aren't even trying to load.
Ultimately, I took backups of everything, and processed the JIRA 8.2.1 upgrade. After the upgrade neither JIRA Software or JIRA Service desk functioned. I removed the license key, then the app showed up in the sidebar to 'install a trial'. Let JIRA Software install itself, then applied my key. Did the same for Service Desk and everything is up and running without any issues.
I'm thinking the plugins may have been out of date and the CLI installed simply didn't clear out the old plugins. Though, not sure why the issue wasn't fixed when I purged the plugin cache and had JIRA rebuild it.
At the end of the day, all is working. Crappy route to get there, but working nonetheless.
