Special characters not well displayed in the decription field into request type of jira service desk

Gilles Samen April 18, 2018

Hi, I have a problem with my JSD version 3.8. On the field Description, for some request type, the special character (é, è) is well displayed but on other it's replaced by "?" . I've checked my encoding it's well configured on UTF-8 and this is just on some request type in the description field as you could see it with the attachment.

Can you please give me a quick answer about why this happens?image-2018-04-17-10-22-00-048.png

Hi Gilles,

Based on your description, it appears you are running into the following bug: JRASERVER-65783

If you haven't already, could you add the the following parameters to the Jira Startup Options:

-Dfile.encoding=utf-8
-Dsun.jnu.encoding=UTF-8

Once you do this, restart Jira and let us know if the issue still occurs.

Regards,

Javier A.
