Hi,
I am trying to import a CSV from my Zendesk to Jira.
The only fields I am entering are requester, assignee and subject, which should import to reporter, assignee and summary but get a user error each time.. Err...
Can someone please advise?
I have mapped to the file to what jira has asked and the assignee is my email but still get the same import error.
Thank you,
Kevin
Did you consider one of the issue synchronisation solutions - check query here?
For instance - our app - Exalate - allows synchronizing between Jira and Zendesk (but also Jira, Github, ServiceNow, HP QC and more to come). It provides a number of capabilities such as
* Multiple bidirectional connections
You can link a single Zendesk instance with multiple other instances (Jira (all deployment models), ServiceNow, Github, ... and more to come), or link a single Jira with multiple Zendesk instances (or any permutation you can imagine)
* Completeness
Whenever you exalate an issue to Jira, you can send over the complete ticket history (all comments, descriptions ...). And comments are copied over as if they have been created locally. Status synchronisation is possible also on Jira Server
* No dependencies between the different instances
The target project is selected on the Jira side. Whenever you need to make a change in your Jira configuration - you can do it without affecting the synchronisation agreements.
Let us know if you would like to see it in action - we're here to demo the capabilities of Exalate and to discuss your requirements - just select a convenient timeslot here
@Kevin Bannon , the easiest way to transfer your data from Zendesk to Jira Service Desk is to use Help Desk Migration service.
It has an intuitive interface and great mapping.

Hi @Kevin Bannon,
Does it just say "user error" or is there more details? Make sure you follow the CSV file requirements here:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/importing-data-from-csv-776636762.html
Can you try unselecting the map field value next to assignee and see what that does? According to the documentation above:
3. To modify the values of any field in the CSV file before importing into Jira, select the Map field value checkboxes next to the appropriate fields. If you're importing a username-based CSV field (e.g. Reporter or Assignee) and you do not select the Map field value checkbox for that field, the importer will automatically map imported usernames from the CSV file to (lowercase) Jira usernames.
Let me know if that helps!
