Hi all,
It's been a few years since I was actively administering Atlassian products and I find myself doing so again.
Back in "the day", it seems like we could roll our own code and attach it to workflow transitions without paying $5000 a year for the privilege. Is ScriptRunner (at $10/user/yr) really the only way to attach custom functionality to workflow steps?
Cheers,
Sean
It depends on what custom functionality you are looking for. I have used both Scriptrunner and Power Scripts and out of the two my favorite is Scritprunner. Currently we rely heavily on Automation for Jira.
Looking at those two gave our team some other good options. Thank you Mikael!

You can still write your own by the way. Atlassian SDK can help you if you want to do that. If you're only going to do a couple of simple ones, it may be worth your effort building them.

Blended perspectives did a nice webinar comparing different automation and scripting apps for Jira recently.
