Upgrading a plugin

Renan May 15, 2019 edited

Hi,

I currently have 4.2.12 Server version for Extension for Jira Service Desk.

I am planning on upgrading to their newest version, 6.6.0-J7.

Will I lose any of my configuration? (Dynamic forms and Security/visibility on customer requests)

Or is it mantained in the new version?

I can't really upgrade it without making sure it won't affect my current settings as it is online for the whole company.

Hi Renan,

With this particular plugin, I've always found it best to upgrade it first in my test system, then test everything and then upgrade in production.  I have had problems with dynamic forms on an upgrade as well as some features like resetting the SLA.  Eventually they will work, but I have had to work with Deviniti and wait for patches.

Your data won't be lost, but your functionality may have bugs in a newer version.

Hope that helps

Susan
