Why does jira automatically import customers

tobias March 6, 2020

Hi,

When I create a new project in jira service desk. It for some reason automatically import a bunch of customers and organizations that shouldn't be there. Where does it get that data from and how can I remove it or stop it from importing the customers it in the first place?

One possibility (not sure if this is your issue based on your description)

If you have your service desk set up to automatically create users from emails. (ie have public signup set to yes) then if someone emails the service desk, and also CC's another email (user or distribution list, doesn't matter) then every email address that is CC'ed will also have a Service Desk Customer account created for it.

The cc processing is part of the Jira Service Desk mail handlers, and the functionality is not configurable. (though there is a open issue to change that.
