Add a label using Automation without overwriting previous labels -- Add/Remove does NOT work

I am having the same problem as documented here:

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Add-a-label-using-Automation-without-changing-removing-existing/qaq-p/1307797

I am using the option to Add/Remove values and have specified my label in the top box and left the bottom box blank.  My label is overwriting any existing label.  I see no real fix for this issue.  Is it a known bug?  Does anyone have a fix?

Hello @Kathy Dickason ,

Could you please give the screenshot of the rule?

I didn't have the "Copy from issue" tag in there before and recently added it.  That seems to help retain the old label value instead of wiping it.  This was stated in the link I sent above.    But why do I need this if I am choosing to Add EpicPointUpdate to the Label?  Is this a bug?  I'm afraid to turn on this automation as in the link I provided above, the author stated that this only works sometimes!!  I cannot afford the risk of having this this wipe out the current label again.  Will having the "Copy from issue" in there prevent that from happening?
