Hello Melissa,

I think you've misunderstood the concept of a locked field.

The fact that the field Sprint appears as locked in the field configuration just means that it's hard-coded and can not be altered, but it doesn't mean that you can not use it.

That been said, I would like to let you know that Sprints is a functionality of Scrum Methodology, so it is only available for Scrum projects/boards and Next-Gen Projects/Boards (Scrum).

If you are looking to use Sprints for next-gen projects, you can navigate to your Project > Project Settings > turn the Sprint feature on.

Thank you for your message. When i go into Project Settings there is no option to turn the sprint on.

Hello Melissa,

The reason you are not seeing the Sprint feature to be enabled is that you've selected the Kanban template when creating your Next-Gen project.

As mentioned before, this feature is only used on Scrum Methodology. Please, refer to the article below for more details about it:

Differences between Scrum and Kanban

If you are interested to use Sprints, you can create a new Next-Gen project and select the Scrum template, and then migrate your issues from your Kanban project to Scrum:
