Block comment when there is a new comment in-between

While writing a comment on a JIRA issue there is a possibility that in the meantime a new comment gets added by someone else (f.e. a customer). This new comment could influence your comment you're currently writing.

There is currently no way (afaik) that you get notified about a new comment which was added while you're writing directly in the browser?

Is there a way to prevent you from sending a new comment while there was a new comment added by someone else in the background which you did not read yet?

unfortunately I have to agree. With standard Jira this is not possible. There is an Issue that is most closest to your requirement: Locking an issue completely. I just voted for it - you can do, too!
