Bulk Edit of jira Tickets, number of records is wrong and it worries me.

Phillip H_ Blanton October 15, 2020 edited

When I run a bulk update of Jira tickets (changing labels), I can see that I am working with a certain number of Jira tickets, but when I confirm the operation, the number that the operation in progress screen shows is different. It doesn't happen ALL the time, but about eighty percent of the time the bulk-edit numbers are different.

Here are some screenshots...

In this screen you can see that I am removing labels from 220 tickets...

But after I click [Confirm] I see this...

What gives? Is this something I should be worried about, or is it just a bug in the bulk operation progress screen?

Hi @Phillip H_ Blanton ,

This can happen when the issues that are bulk updated contain sub-tasks. There is an open bug on this issue

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-42436?

Thank  you! That explains the number. Does this mean that the sub-tasks get their labels updated too?

Nevermind. I read the ticket description on https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-42436, which explains it all.
