CSV import > Map fields Not showing custom field

Hi I am trying to do a csv import via Issues>Import Issues from CSV.

When i get to Map Fields step it is not showing a custom field that I need to set.

The field is configured to be global ( All issue types, All projects)

I am not sure what I am missing.

I have found that if I place the field on the default create screen of the project it appears in the options but if its not on that screen it is not in the options to map to when doing the import.

Please can some one help as the field should not be on the default screen but should be available when Importing issues

Hello Robert,

Thank you for raising this question.

In order to add a field to an issue, it is required that the creation screen of the issue workflow have the field you are needing to configure. It is applied to any way you are creating the issues, including import.

That being said, you must add the field to the screens o the project you are importing the issues or, if you are creating a new project, to the default create screen.

If you don't want the field to be on the create screen of the project, you can simply remove it once the issues are imported.

Please add this to the documentation.

It would be great if this behavior was consistent. I can map custom fields for import into my shared configuration project, but not into any project created from that shared configuration.

If you don't select the top radio button to select the Project (if instead, you select 'Defined in CSV') you will not see all of your custom fields.

I was trying to explicitly name my Project Key and Name and was not able to select my custom field that was of type 'Select List (cascading)' or 'Select List (Single Choice)'.

HI, I did select the top radio button and I found my project custom fields only the data did not import. Do you have any other suggestions. There were no errors in my import so it appeared everything was fine until I looked at the issues in my project and no custom field was populated. I am using Next Gen Cloud - Kanban with backlog.

@Sue Hannan I tried to find your work info to give you a call/email but couldn't find anything in this Community - I thought we could do a Zoom screenshare.  I haven't used Next Gen and I'm curious how differently it operates. Find me on LinkedIn and DM me please.  (I don't know how else to directly contact someone)
