Ok, my apologies, I was not clear.

  • There are three Jira applications - Core, Service Desk and Software.
  • Core is a platform as well as an issue tracker.  Service Desk and Software are applications for that platform.
  • So, if you want a well integrated set of the three, you should install Core, then add Service Desk and Software to it.

I think what is confusing you is that there are three installers - Core, Service Desk and Software.

  • The installer for Jira Software installs Jira Core and Jira Software.
  • The installer for Jira Service Desk installs Jira Core and Jira Service Desk.
  • Ideally, there should be an installer for "all three" as well, but as that has not been done, the easiest install is Jira Software and then add Service Desk.

If you run two installers, one after the other, then of course the second one is going to try to install Core in the same place as the first - it's installing the same thing.

So, please, forget the second installer, it's wasting your time.  Log into your Jira Core + Software installation, go to Admin -> manage applications and add Service Desk there.

Hi,

Actually what i am looking fort is

How to install JIRA Service Desk on top of JIRA Software?

When i tried to install service desk, it is trying to install jira SD where Jira software is already installed.

Jira service desk  is asking for port no 8080,  & this port 8080 is used by jira software.

Thanks

Ameer

The installer for Jira Software installs Jira Core and Jira Software.

The installer for Jira Service Desk installs Jira Core and Jira Service Desk.

You probably do not want to do that.  I would guess you really want all three applications in one place.  The best way to do that is install Jira Software, and then go to Admin -> Manage Applications and add Service Desk.
