One of my users asked "what is cf11902] in this query 'cf[11902] > startOfMonth()'" and of course as an administrator I was able to quickly provide an answer.
I am stumped by the follow-up question, one of those we Jira admins love to hear, "how can I solve this myself in the future".
It looks to me like Jira admin privilege is required to make sense of a filter someone inherits where the field name was dropped and replaced by a number. Any ideas?
Thanks!
At one employer, I created a ScriptRunner REST API to return info about all the custom fields and then displayed the info, including the field id, in Confluence pages.
Perhaps other plugins on the Marketplace can show this info too? Without so much work.
Oh, the simplest way is to view a page showing an issue and do a find for the id. But that is so clunky
Hi Robert,
I am not aware of a solution other than maybe create a list of custom fields and their IDs and distribute as needed.
