Can you hide fields on certain screens/issue types?

KeriB September 18, 2011

Hello,

Is there a way to hide fields on certain screens and/or issue types? Or if you hide a field does it have to be hidden on all screens? I can't seem to find a way to only hide a field sometimes. Here is an example my boss brought up of why she'd like this functionality, if this makes sense:

If the field 'Release Date' is only on Dev subtasks, but she wants to search for Bug sub-tasks & Dev sub-tasks, she won't be able to search for both at once. So, she would like a way to have the field 'Release Date' on both sub-tasks, but have it hidden on the Bug sub-tasks.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Take a look at screen schemes, it should do what you want. I’m guess that you want the Release date to be autopopulated on the ‘bug sub-tasks”, you can do that in your workflow. Then don’t put it on your view/edit/create screens. You must however make sure that it is valid in the field configuration though.

Thanks, I will take a look at this and see if it does what I'm wanting.
