Cannot Switch Authentication Method

Rick April 22, 2012

We had a contract employee who had an account in our JIRA instance. It was using the JIRA Delegated Authentication Directory (we used Active Directory). When his contract expired, he was removed from all JIRA groups, and his LDAP account was deleted. In the meantime, we upgraded from 4.1 to 4.4. Now that he is back, I cannot change his directory from JIRA Internal Directory back to JIRA Delegated Authentication Directory.

What is the preferred method of doing this?

I have encounter the situation like this before, my workaround is to go to the database directly and delete the user and then readd the user by Synching LDAP directories.

Hope this help!
