Change issue icon

How is it possible to change "Issue Icons" and "Sub Task Icons" I have uploaded them to

/atlassian-jira/images/icons/

but they do not appear in the "edit issue type" screen

also if I supply the path such as:

/atlassian-jira/images/icons/xxxx.gif

The icons on the selection list are generated from a properties file - you need to edit that and restart Jira.

Or you can just use a full url to the images.
