Tried to change the issue type when a transition is done to a workflow,
used BOB swift addon :
Update issues post function from Update on Transition for JIRA
but doesnt work as expected, the issue type doesnt change.
we even use JIRA SUITE UTILITIES
any suggestion to make this happen.
ScriptRunner can also do it.
But you might be better off debugging the problem you have with the existing process you're trying.
Very simple question here - are the two issue types you are moving between identically configured? Same workflow, field configuration, and fields?
If they are not, then you can't just change the issue type, as you need to check the issue data fits the new shape of the issue and alter it to match.
That is not something you can do in a transition because you might be removing the transition that you're currently running.
HI @siva
I suggest you try Automation for JIRA
Very easy to create automation tasks that can handle what you need, and more, a lot more.

I can do this successfully using Automation. For us, there is no concern regarding how the change may impact fields, workflow, etc. as this workflow is for a business process and the issue type helps define different types of the same activity.

Yep, it'll work when the two issue types are configured the same way.
