Close Button on embeded Jira issue collector in a Confluence gadget

I have a Jira issue collector implemented in a confluence gadget being developed in-house. Everything works fine with the collector except the close button. The collector popup does not auto close after the form is submitted and the close button does not function. No javascript error occurs in the console.

Any ideas as to what is wrong?
