Created v Resolved: Adding estimates?

kc_ray March 9, 2014

We'd love to add estimates for our Created v resolved defects. Our two routes to this would seem to be

a) Write our own plugin or gadget

b) export the Created v Resolved data from the built in Gadget and add our data to it outside fo Jira.

Core to both approaches is getting that Created v Resolved data in the first place. I knw if you maximise the graph you get the data, but how do I get the data programatically eg from the REST API?

Hi Kevin,

Are the estimates you want to add to the chart in JIRA? If so you could check out Intelligent Reports. It lets you create Line charts in Word using lines based on created/resolved and any numerical data on the issue with simple point and click rules.

You simply design your chart/report in Word, then use point and click rules to fill in the data from JIRA. No scripting or API to learn.

One of the included example reports uses this technique to draw burn up charts based on story point estimates for agile boards, but it can easily be modified to use time estimates instead if preferred.

Its free to try, so check it out.
