Detailed JIRA Permissions List

Is there somewhere to find a DETAILED list of what the JIRA permissions actually give people permission to do?

And no the one in the JIRA admin guide is not what I am looking for.  It is not a detailed list of what a particular role or permission gives you permission to.  For example:  No where does it say who can and cannot see the 'where's my field' option when creating issues.

I'm afraid that's an essay answer, about as long as the entire admin documentation, plus some of the user stuff.

But the spot where that info can be found should not be an essay.  Is there a spot to find the essay :-).

It has to be - you're effectively asking for a copy of the admin guide.

I am sorry, but there are potentially thousands of lines and most of them would not make any sense without additional context, so you'd need to explain each line as it's listed.  Whilst the admin and user docs do not work from a permission point of view, they do cover the list.  Extracting that into a different shape would be a massive task, and not of a lot of use to most users as they need it by subject, not permission.
