I learned it hard way and was wondering for couple of days what am I doing wrong. Apparently if you are using Jira cloud and if your monthly payment is not current, then you cannot add some plugins to your Jira account even a free trail.
It would have been nice to get the useful and specific error message, than just "something went wrong..."
Sorry to hear about this problem. I understand that you are not able to start the trial for an app in Marketplace for your Jira Cloud site when your account did not have current or valid payment details on it.
There are a pair of tickets about this scenario where we have documented this behavior
The first ticket is specifically trying to prevent users from trying to perform a trial install when this happens. While I created a second ticket on this to improve the messaging here. I agree that this is not an ideal situation to be in because Cloud site-admins are not being given enough information to understand why this not working as expected.
But we are tracking this behavior in those tickets, and I expect those issues will be updated once work on this begins.
Regards,
Andy
