Different statuses for specific issue types - Workflow

Hi Everyone

1. I have a custom workflow and have been asked to create a workflow for Bug issue type. The Bug type will have different statuses than that of a Story which follows the Sprint board columns. Using a simplified workflow you have the ability to map multiple statuses to columns by simply dragging the 'unmapped status ' into the column through board settings. As I am using a custom workflow I guess I have to create a workflow for the Bug type and add it to the Project Scheme. Is this correct?
   
   
2. The 'other types' use a workflow which maps perfectly to the board columns however the Bug type will have different status than that of the columns. How would I map the example status 'In Analysis' to the column header 'In Progress' using the custom workflow method?
   
   
3. I have a couple of Bugs inflight on our current Sprint. If I start taking out the Bug type from the current workflow in order to reassign it to the new workflow what would happen to the Bug that's inflight? I am concerned I will lose it off my board as it will no longer have a status which reflects the board layout!

Hi DJ,

1. Yes, you need to create a new workflow for the Bug issue type. Then add that new workflow to the existing Workflow Scheme used by the project, mapping it to the Bug issue type when you add it to the Scheme. 

2. Once the new Bug workflow is added to the scheme, then go back to the board settings and you should see the Bug statuses in the unmapped statuses to the right. Simply drag them to the column you want or add a new column. 

3. If you map all of the bug statuses to the board after you add the workflow, then the bug will still show on the board.
