Don't default Issue Type Selection when creating issue

Kyle Mitofsky

When the issue type is defaulted, it allows many users to accidentally not think about what type of issue they are putting in and immediately move to the next field, not realizing that an active decision has been made for them.

In the Issue Type Scheme settings, you can set "Default Issue Type" to "None" - However, I find that when I create a new issue, the first issue type is still automatically selected.

Is there a way to actually prevent a default?

There is no other setting to prevent a default.

Sounds like you should raise an Improvement request on https://jira.atlassian.com
