Epic Link Field Value is not saved

Hi 

• I am trying to create a story in project A 
• In the create story form , I select the appropriate Epic link from from down (the epic resides in project A too)
• I hit save.
• The epic link is not saved but other fields are saved 
• I edit the story and update the Epic link filed and select the appropriate Epic link from from down (the epic resides in project A too) 
• the epic link is saved successfully .

P.S. I have also checked permission scheme; i have permission to create , edit and link issues.

Why does this happen , how can it be fixed.please help.

I have found the problem , it was a post function that was interfering .
