Is there a way to shrink the list of available workflow statuses? We are planning on using Backlog, To do, In Process, Done
I don't want to see:
Ready for Development
Ready for Documentation
Ready for Review 1
Review 1 in Progress
Ready for Review 2
etc, etc, etc
Is there a project configuration screen that lets me select what statuses are shown on that workflow drop down.
There are a few things you can look at, but you'll need to be an admin, or have the help of your admin.
Each project uses a Workflow Scheme that assigns a workflow to each issue type in the project.
When you click the workflow dropdown, Jira looks at the Issue Type you're viewing, and matches it to the appropriate workflow for that type of issue in the project.
Next, it looks at the status your issue is currently in, and lists all available transitions from that status.
---
If you're seeing all of those every time you click the workflow dropdown, it's because you have a valid transition from your current status to all others. I expect that if you view the workflow, each of your statuses will have an incoming transition from "All" - it will look something like this:
If you only want Backlog -> To Do -> In Progress -> Done, then you will need to remove the other statuses from your workflow.
If you don't want to see all statuses in that dropdown every time you click it, remove the transitions from "all" and only create the transitions you want to be available from each status.
