Gaia does not import issues xml

I use Gaia to create new projects from a template of workflows, etc.

I have a project with issues of various types (e.g. tasks, requirement, sub-requirement, Xray test) which I would like to use as the template for others so have exported the issue to XML to create the import issues file (as described in Gaia documentation).

This XML has then been added to the Gaia template and saved.

I have then created a new project using the template, but no issues are imported.

Can you please help?

Gaia is an add-on to enable quick creation of projects from a template. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/ca.nuum.gaia Perhaps the wrong place to ask, but someone did answer a previously posted question about this add-on.

You might want to explain what Gaia is here - most of us are unfamiliar with it, and it's not clear from the question.
