Hide custom field label from view screen and only show default value of that field

We are looking to put an instruction or tip below one custom field, which will provide information on how to use the field value. One option that we have explored is to create "Message Custom Field (for view)" which will have these tips.

Is there and option to hide custom field label from view screen and only show default value of that field. or is there a different way to do this.

• Add a javascript in the custom field description to hide the custom field div in the page (hard way)
