For the sake of rapid delivery of necessary upgrades, I have operated my Atlassian infrastructure since 2015 on Docker containers. Because Docker facilitates rapid upgrade scheduling, I have taken advantage of this with regular minor downtime.
Upper management has, with the idea of automation, requested more recently that this downtime cease, which has necessitated me to look into utilizing docker to rapidly upgrade the infrastructure. This has been achieved through linking volumes, however the issue remains that app-links cannot be automatically created between applications, which has caused management to come down on me, with the expectation that this should have already been provided.
As there is NO reason why this ability isn't already provided by the Atlassian software itself, by utilizing static xml, yml, etc files, which can be rapidly grepped and automatically configured, as opposed to the database to instantiate app-links I am now turning their ire towards Atlassian.
With that in mind though, I would love to see if there are any alternative solutions which can provide automatic creation and configuration of app-links outside of the web-gui?
I have requested aid from support, but they have turned me away, designating this as a 'configuration' which is not supportable.
I don't want to have to look into alternative products, and would love to find a solution from Atlassian or this forum if one exists.
