How do I know the issue type selected

Vidula Kulkarni December 15, 2013

Is there a way to know what issue type is selected while executing a script? I want a custom dropdown filed's value to be set depending on issue type value. As the 'Create Issue' screen is different when creating issue from dashboard and from field configuration screen, I dont know how to get the value.

Hi Vidula

Currently, it is not available in the default functionality in JIRA itself as there is already an improvement request being raised in here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-6851

However for scripting capability on this configuration, you may refer here https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/203940/setting-custom-field-drop-down-list-based-on-issue-type-script-runneras this has been discussed before that.
