How do you show by default "Issues in Epic" panel on a new Epic?

I cant seem to find any settings for this. When I creat a new Epic in jira the "Issues in Epic" panel is not visable but after I add a story then I can see the bannel and add additional issues types to the epic. Am I missing something here or is that functionality just not created yet.

Thank you in advance,

As of right now that panel definitely does not come up without having an issue asspcoated with that epic first. This is a limitation to how linking works in JIRA right now. No item linked = doesn't show the area. Typically all additions to epics are done in the Greenhopper view.
