How edit Username when IT converts to use Active Directory??

Help!

We will soon be using Active Directory for our network login authentication. We are currently using Novell. The issue is that every User Id is changing from the current id used for Novell to a new Id for Active Directory. When all of our JIRA users were created, that Novell Id was used as the "username" and authenticated against the Novel credentials.

As you all know you can not change/edit the username, so my question(s) then are,

(1) Is there a way to edit or convert all of the Usernames to use the new Id we will be using for Active Directory,

(2) Can this be done without losing any existing data that the user had or created using their current Id?

Note that we are currently running Enterprise Edition, Version 3.13-#330, however we are in the process of upgrading to the latest JIRA version, so just putting that out ther ein case having the latest JIRA allows us some feature that might help with this issue.

Thanks,

Brad.

Hi Brad,

This is indeed dificult, as there isn't an easy method to change the usernames for a big list of users. As an alternative, you can create an XML backup of your instance and execute a search and replace for the usernames. You can find more details in this link.

I hope this helps.

Cheers
