×I would like to create a snapshot of a JIRA Project and then make several copies so people can use them for training purposes.
To begin with we are going through different stages of a project. I would like to make exact copies of a project at that point, then continue one "branch" and leave the other as snapshot for a project at that point in time.
Script runner makes a copy of the issues but the status values are lost for example.
I also tried to export a project (search replace the key in the xml export so it's imported as a new project) and import it again but that also reset the issue status values.
Is there a way to make an exact copy?
Thanks
So... I must have made a mistake when I did the system Export and Project Import.
I did that again and double checked the project and I have everything back including Status etc.
I have to do a search and replace for the issue key in the export file, then create an empty project with that key using the right schemes, then I can import.
If there is a cleaner method I would love to hear it.
Thanks for the hint. Looking at the price of "Project Clone" (seriously?!?) and functionality of the others I think we'll stick with my hack for now...

Hi There
You might want to try one of the 3rd party plugins that we have in marketplace.
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.metova.jira.project-clone-plugin
There are a few extra ones on the link below as well:
Hope it helps!
Cheers
