How to copy/clone issue with the historical data

ARM Ltd. (old account) December 9, 2013

Hi

We are trying to copy/clone Jira issues and would like to keep the historical data too in the copied issues.

Currently in the Jira 5.2.11 I did not find any way to do this.

Does anyone tried to do this or created any kind of script?

Regards,

Areg

A clone is a new issue that just happens to have fields set based on an existing issue. I suppose you could write a plugin to riffle through the old issues' change history and add it to the new issue in some way that doesn't break other parts of JIRA or other plugins. I suspect it is not a common use case. Normally, linking to the old issue is the way to remember the ancestory.
