Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×I want to hide the Comment field on the issue view screen, because for us time entry (work logs) are mandatory so we have created a transition "Add Comment" that loops back to the current state that prompts for time entry.
But the Comment field still appears at the bottom of the issue view screen.
Is there a way to hide this? I have seen other discussions (e.g. here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Core-questions/How-do-I-hide-or-restrict-the-use-of-the-comment-field/qaq-p/439166) on how to hide it from transition screens and from the issue edit but not from the issue view screen.
I only need to hide it some cases not call, but I would happy with a solution that blanket hides it as well and I can just add more loop-back transitions for other states.
Hello,
You could do it with a plugin.
For example you could use the Power Scripts add-on:
You can find how to do it here:
