How to link the email to Issue type based on the ID of the issue?

Hi Team, 

 

Please let me know the steps to link the email received from customer to Issue type based on the ID of the issue and also change the status based on email received.

Hello Nirmala,

Using email to create issues is a great benefit of using Jira. Along with this, you can easily customize how your mail handlers functions to create your issues. With this said, when you’re creating or editing your mail handler you are presented with the Issue Type selection. You must choose one issue type per mail handler.

Here are the instruction on how to create this (You will need to have a mail handler created to complete this):

To configure a 'Create a new issue or add a comment to an existing issue' mail handler:

  1. If you have not already done so, begin configuring your mail handler.
  2. On the Create a new issue or add a comment to an existing issue dialog box, complete the following fields/options:
    1. Issue Type; Choose the default issue type for new issues.
  3. Test and save your mail handler.
