How to link two projects in jira with same version?

Krithica Gowri Shankar

i wanted to have a link between two different projects, to make log efforts should be impacted vice versa if resource worked in same tasks(same Job code) in two different projects.

for eg:

Project A - Job code - 1001

Project B - Job code - 1001

If a resource logged efforts in Project A for Job code 1001, it should also reflect in Project B for job code 1001, since they both have same job code.

How to achieve this?

Versions belong to projects, they're not global artefacts, even if you happen to give them the same tag/name.

If you need to tie things together with these "job codes", then you either need to use the job-code field you've added (and accept that versions are different by project), or keep the work together in one project, or build reporting that understands your use of versions.
