How to properly add a link from one comment to another

bgoodr July 27, 2013

Is there a proper way to link to a specific comment to another without referring to the fully qualified URL including the Jira server in the url? For instance if I have an issue called XYZ-4, and I've added two comments, in the second comment I would like to be able to say

[that other comment|comment:1]

where "comment1" would be some suitable syntax.

and when that second comment is posted, that field should turn into a link.

What I have to do right now is not good as it hardcodes the Jira server and port in the URL which means all of those comments would have to be edited if we change servers in the future:

[that other comment|http://my_current_server:8080://bla/bla/bla/...]

Thanks,

Hi,

Everything you can do in the wiki renderer is available here. I do not think there is any built in syntax to do what you are looking for.

Thank you

That was what I was afraid of. I guess I'll have to manhandle it on my end with the Jira REST API.
