How to remove users from JIRA user list

Victor Campbell February 6, 2015

We are using LDAP to synchronize our user list in JIRA with the 100 authorized users.  Someone wrote a faulty group filter, which added the entire company of 2000 employees to the list.  Even though the group filter is now fixed, the non-users remain on the list.  How do I remove the 1900 names from my user list?

Hi Victor,

I believe that at this point you have two options:

  1. Write a code to use JIRA API to bulk remove this users
    OR
  2. Use JIRA Command Line Interface to remove this users

Here's a documentation to better guide you on those process: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CLOUDKB/Perform+a+mass+delete+of+users

Please let us know if this helps you.smile

Cheers!
