Hi
I am trying to modify a workflow because I want to change the name of one the status. For some reason, when I try to change from H/W Under Review to Under Review, it tells me that the status "already exists". However, I don't see any other status with that name in the workflow.
Why cannot I just change it?
Hello @Hernan Mathias Farina Forster ,
Good day! Welcome to Atlassian community :)
This error generally arises when you already have a status of the same name in the Jira site. Status is a global entity. When a status is renamed, the name will be updated in every workflow (and therefore, every project) that uses it.
Navigate to jira settings -> Work items -> statuses and check if you already have a status named "Under Review"
Thank you!
Hi @Hernan Mathias Farina Forster,
Never change status names from the workflow editor. This will automatically edit the status name across your entire Jira instance, not just in your workflow. Most likely, there is already a different status in your instance with the name you are trying to update to.
Instead, edit your workflow in Jira settings > Issues > Workflows and add replace the old status with the existing under review status there (not by editing the status name).
Hope this helps!

Hi,
You should have a status with that name in your instance. You can check by going to the cog > issue > statuses, you will see all the statuses availables in your instance

Hey @Hernan Mathias Farina Forster ,
Welcome to Atlassian community!
Please navigate to status screen: https://<your_domain>.atlassian.net/secure/admin/ViewStatuses.jspa
Here search if Under Review already exist?
I understand you are creating new status of category ToDO for a workflow used by company managed project?

I don't think so, @Chitra Nagdeo. The OP tagged the question as related to Data Center and based on the shared screenshot, I believe that tag is correct.
