I want to build a perfect Roadmap connecting Sagas of one project to epics from other projects.

Hi dear atlassian community,

I want to build a perfect Roadmap connecting different project. I want to build a main project with sagas and connect these sagas to different epics from different project and then let me show the hierarchy in the Jira Roadmap.

How can I link a Saga with the Epic of another project? I tried the "link field" but nothing happened in the roadmap.

Thank you very much!

Cheers,

Maria

Hi @Mari Car ,

do I get it right your hierarchy levels are:

  • Saga (highest)
  • Epic
  • Standard issue types
  • Sub-task issue types

?

Please, make sure your configuration of hierarchy levels is correct (see Configure custom hierarchy levels)

Then you should be able to use Parent Link custom field in your Epics - in each Epic you should be able to select one Saga.

Hi @Hana Kučerová ,

thank you very much, yes my Hierarchi is:

Saga

Epic

Story

Task

I would like to have Epic children issues in the Saga, but I don´t get it. I can link a saga with an epic, but I want to make the epic as a child Issue. Can you help me?

Thank you very much and best regards,

Maria

Hi @Mari Car ,

I can see a problem with your hierarchy - Stories cannot be parents of Tasks, both need to be on the same level.

Anyway, if you want Saga issue to be parent of some Epics, you need to

  • Configure the custom hierarchy levels (see the link I provided before)
  • Navigate to the each Epic issue and in the custom field Parent Link select the appropriate Saga issue (if you are not able to see Parent Link custom field in your Epic issue, then you need to add it to the appropriate screen).
