Incoming email saves avatars as attachments

Veera rdy May 22, 2018

Hello,

Our Jira environment has been upgraded from 6.4.14 to 7.7.1.

The email has been configured for the incoming email to Jira to save as comments.

This was the config in 6.4.14, the replies were saved as comments but in the new 7.7.1, the emails are saved as comments but the ticket avatars are being saved as attachment.

e.g: I get a email regarding a task being transitioned, when I reply to that email, the text is stored as comment but the task avatar is stored as an attachment to the issue.

Please advice.

Thanks.

About Images:

JEMH (our addon) has a couple of ways to resolve that problem:

1. We blacklist all internal JIRA imagery from your JIRA instance

2. We allow you to block specific attachments/images by hash, as well as by size (e.g. images less than 5K)

About replied to content:

This is a complex problem to solve, as teh 'On xxxxx someone said' line is nearly random text.  JEMH has support for expression Body Delimiters, that match that line, to remove content from that point forward.

You are probably facing issue similar to this - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-60810

It might be related to Outlook environment. Please test on a different client to see if this could be reproduced.
