Interesting one - try to watch more than one issue, get an XML page up on screen with errors!

On a dashboard, in a Two Dimensional Filter - http://snpr.cm/uOth2m.jpg. Selected Calin / Open issues (that's not me).

I then see the Issue Navigator with 4 issues.

I click the dropdown next to the Actions cog on the first issue. I choose Watch Issue - it's complete, no problem, I get the little popup telling me it's OK.

Click the dropdown next to the Actions cog on the second (or any other) issue - get an XML screen thrown up!

Looks like a general JIRA bug rather than something specific to me?

I dont get this with jira 5, what rev are you using? Pasting the topmost couple of lines may help identify the cause?
