Is it possible to automatically copy/update links in an issue with links from linked issues?

For example, if I have three issues (Issue 1, Issue 2, and Issue 3) that duplicate each other, and I create the following links:

1. Issue 1 is duplicated by Issue 2
2. Issue 2 is duplicated by Issue 3

Is there a way that I can automatically have Issue 1 update to show that it is also duplicated by Issue 3? 

I know that this function exists to some extent when creating a linked issue by checking the "copy links" box (though I am not sure if it happens retrospectively), but I really need this function when linking existing issues. It would save me the time and necessity of creating links manually between all duplicate service desk tickets.
