Is it possible to disable a group of users from creating issues?

Vasco Nunes November 27, 2018

I have a group of users that I would like to be able only to edit/view issues that are assigned to them.

Hi @Vasco Nunes, yes, you need to use the Permission Schemes.

Jira Administration -> Issues -> Permission Schemes.

Then you need to check in the schemes that are using the desired project (or default if you are just using one). Then go to the permission Create Issues and be sure that the group you don't wan't to have access to not be included in those that have the permission.

I recommend to use the project roles instead of groups directly in the permission schemes.

Cheers,

David

Yes, it is possible, you just have to create a permission scheme that excludes that group from being able to create issues, see Managing project permissions. I would create a project role to allow who can create issues in the project, that way you can exclude the group in question.
