Is it possible to dynamically populate fields from a Database(Microsoft AD for example)

Hello everyone, I am a JIRA Admin here at our company and I would like to know if it's possible to populate fields dynamically(as in real time in the Create Issue screen) from a database or even by using Power BI.

The situation I am thinking of is a user filling the "Name" Custom Field with the worker's name and then the Custom Field "Department Head" is automatically populated with the Department Head field from our Active Directory.

If not, can it be done in a transition(as in the Custom Field is updated during the transition with the query answer)

Is it possible at all?

Currently it is not possible to dynamically populate data from an external source out-of-the-box. However, it exists a few third-party to achieve this.

Check Elements Connect (formerly nFeed) for example.
