JIRA 7.8.4 - JQL deletes filter criteria in advanced mode when changing filter

Hello,

When a user edits a filter in advanced mode and changes filter criteria using the syntax prompter the remaining portion of the query after the edit is blanked out.

Screen shots below.

Is this a known issue in JIRA 7.8.4?
