JIRA service stopped after memory increase

Radoslav Fedacko February 29, 2012

Hi,

after increasing allocated memory for JIRA service where the -Xms was set to 256 (before 128) and the -Xmx to 1024 (before 512) (as described here http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Increasing+JIRA+Memory), the service stopped just few moments after i started it. I only managed to get to the log screen, but that was it, the service was down without any ERRORs logging. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any clues where to look for the cause? The JIRA version is 4.4.3 the OS is windows 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 SP2

Thanks,

Rad

what partially helped to solve this problem was to increase the size of a page file. Howewer, we only managed to increase the maximum memory pool, not the initial.
