JQL : Find all issues in epics with a certain component.

Kyle Conway January 8, 2019 edited

Hi all!

I have a component that gets applied to certain epic types.  We'll call it "comp."  I want to list all tickets from all epics that are open and have the component "comp."  I've only been able to list the epics, not the issues within the epic.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Kyle,

Unfortunately, The inbuilt JQL functionality of JIRA does not have a parameter to search for issues where their linked Epics matches certain criteria, however, there are a few plugins that you can use to achieve it.

I would recommend you to use the Scripted JQL Functions provided by ScriptRunner plugin. The query would be:

issueFunction in issuesInEpics("status = 'Open' and component = 'comp'")

Please, let me know if it works for you.
